Mark Kalpakgian


Mark has over a decade of senior leadership in education, business and non-profit management, both internationally and here in the United States.

He is the Director of Strategic Partnerships for The Classical Academies, an award-winning group of charter schools in North County. He also oversees the organization’s Leadership Institute.

Mark is the published author of Stars, Stripes and Edelweiss: An American Family Braves Austrian Living, and he regularly writes, speaks, and volunteers around California.

Mark is the President of the Franciscan University Alumni Association of Southern California. He also volunteers with the San Diego Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP), Woodcrafters America, Project, Mercy, Feed My Starving Children, and his local church council.

In previous roles, he has been a University Dean of Students, an International Director of a study abroad program, and a management consultant with Accenture.

He received his Masters of Humanities degree from the University of Dallas and his undergraduate degrees from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

In his free time, Mark enjoys adventuring with his wife Niki and their 4 boys. He is an avid outdoorsman, Italophile, and foodie who enjoys sampling the local cuisine and relaxing at Southern California’s beautiful beaches, especially Torrey Pines and Coronado.
