Home to one of the most successful and concentrated Craft Brewery districts in the entire United States, it is safe to say North County has an affinity for Craft Beer. At the heart of “Hops Highway” lies Vista, boasting the most breweries per capita in the entire nation. One of the contributing factors to Vista’s successes lie in the incorporation of breweries into the City’s economic development plans. The development has aimed at increasing jobs and tourism, contributing to a more vibrant community.
In 2019, Vista won a California Association of Local Economic Development (CALED) award, acknowledging their efforts in spurring economic growth in the Craft Beer sector. A recent poll also ranked Vista as the “Best Craft Beer Community” in the San Diego region. The City’s efforts are enduring and will continue to pay off in a post-pandemic recovery.
