This month the San Diego Tech Hub May Meeting will have a “startup” theme in preparation for San Diego Startup Week.
We will have three breakout sessions to brainstorm on our “startup” themed passion projects in an effort to create opportunities for others in need.
Be the Boss: Want to make an impact on the lives of our future leaders? Be the Boss is focused on providing support for underrepresented youth that do not readily have access to business and entrepreneurial resources to help them formulate a legitimate business idea. The program will teach students the skills to take a personal passion and help them build a pitch, learn marketing techniques, and make their business idea a reality in six short weeks. The end goal: build confidence, pride, and hope to help them take a leap of faith. If this is your passion, this brainstorming session is for you.
LaunchPad: Imagine creating a platform where anyone with an idea could come get the knowledge and resources they need to launch a successful company, this is the goal of LaunchPad: Create a community of entrepreneurs, mentors, and free resources to help those that need launch their business idea. If this is your passion, this brainstorming session is for you.
SDTH Network: Imagine if you could find a job without having to build a resume and go through a tedious interview process. Or if you are a hiring manager looking for talent and could eliminate the need for a job description when trying to find qualified individuals for your open positions. This is one of the challenges we are looking to solve with the SDTH Network. If this is your passion, this brainstorming session is for you.
Each of these passion projects align with our Five Pillars of Excellence: Community, Education, Inclusion, Innovation, and Talent. The May Meeting will re-enforcing the idea we are all entrepreneurs striving to create opportunities within San Diego for others to succeed.
